[Kurama just chirps in a pleased way and lays his head down.]

[ He's blushing even more before he gives a soft grumble and looks away. ]

I've been hearing that a lot lately.

[He's considering something for a moment... and then he reaches over and gently takes Viné's hands, placing them on top of Kurama's head.]

[ A quiet sound escapes. ]

[ His fingers curl a bit... ]

[The vines start to shift a bit, still curled around Viné's arms but instead of binding them right up against each other there is a short length of vine between them. He isn't free but he has a little more flexibility of movement.]

[Akira shifts a little to get comfortable, gaze softening as Kurama loosens the vines.]

...so, can I ask why you were so nervous, anyway? I mean, obviously we wouldn't hurt you while you're in our boyfriend's body. Or is it just an instinctive response?

[ There's a considerable amount of tension swelling within him. His fingers curl and then straighten out before he shakes his head. ]

I wasn't nervous.

[Kurama will refrain from calling him out and just nudge his head up into Viné's hands.]

[ There's a quiet sound from throat.

But, then, he gives a very, very tentative and subtle scratch behind one ear. ]

[Akira's going to give a small smile, placing his hand on Viné's free one.]

Maybe just a little.

[ There's the hint of his breath catching as his cheeks darken. ]

What are you doing?

[...blink.]

Have you never had anyone comfort you before?

[ He's narrowing eyes a little, shifting somewhat uncomfortably. He looks away, quietly. ]

[He looks at him for a moment, then gives a soft hum, leaning against him.]

Sounds pretty lonely.

[beguiledcard]

[ He frowns a little, but... relaxes the tiniest bit. There's a quiet sigh as he turns his head, brow furrowed as he holds a blink... ]

It is. It was, for me. Even surrounded by people, you're always alone.

[Kurama leans into that subtle scratch just a little, head tilting towards Viné's fingers.]

[Akira reaches over, gently scratching behind Kurama's other ear.]

Now neither of you have to be alone.

[ Ah... that causes an outright swell of wariness, the fear creeping from beneath the surface before he shoves it all down and takes a deep breath. ]

Who said I minded being alone?

No one did. Not having to be and not wanting to be are two different things.

But I think you do mind. You said I was half right. So, to be closer to someone and to have a place...

That doesn't sound like someone who enjoys solitude.

[It's soft and solemn, considering without judging. Sympathetic, even.]

[Akira looks at him for a few moments...]

Who was the someone?

[ There's some frustration blossoming within him as he begins running his hand over Kurama's head, gaze distant. Basically, he's petting him without even realizing it. Some sadness creeps to the surface. Sadness, longing, loneliness...

But, then, he blinks - out of thought, apparently. His breath catches for just a moment before he shakes his head. ]

Satan, herself. I thought, if I could climb to the top, I would finally--

[ A slam of regret hits, almost like a damn truck. He grits his teeth, biting back everything. His next breath is unsteady, his voice tense. ]

It was stupid. It doesn't matter.
