[Kurama just flops down on the floor with a pleased trilling noise. He stretches and wriggles happily at the scratches and pets, tails, sorry, there is literally no other word than wagging at this point.]

There's a quiet laugh slipping out as he moves to just. Sit next to and lean against Akira.

[O-oh... There's a blink when Ren just leans against him, and he glances at him a bit, cheeks turning just the tiniest bit pink... His gaze softens at the laugh before he returns his attention to Kurama.]

Good, because it looks like we might be here quite awhile.

[He gives a hum, pausing in the scratching for just a moment.]

Hey Kurama, can I touch your tails?

[Kurama gives a little whine of protest at the pause. Golden eyes peek up at Akira at the question.

The answer doesn't come in his mental voice, though, but in the form of a chirp and the green tails curling closer to Akira.]

[ He simply smiles at Akira before he looks back to Kurama...

... and then an outright laugh slips out. It's gentle and fond.

This is a little dangerous... Because I think I could get used to this.

[Akira can't help but give a bit of a laugh as well. He's only found one person— maybe two— at home that could make him feel the same way, so this... takes him a bit off guard.

He lightly bumps Ren's shoulder.]

Looks like you're doomed.

[Gently, he'll reach out and run his hand over one of the tails, curious about how it feels...]

[Look who's remembered how words work, finally. Kurama lays his head on Ren's leg with a soft trill.

His tail twitches a little under Akira's hand. It feels...strange. A little bit cool, and smooth as glass, but flexible.]

[ He laughs at those words - both of their words. He shakes his head. ]

[ Though, now he's going to move to gently rest his forehead on the top of Kurama's head. All the while, he's gently scratching under his chin. ]

You're both a little unfairly nice to be around...

[He gives a soft grin as he watches them, his expression fond. When he brings up his hand to scratch Kurama's neck, the gesture is more tender than before.]

[Kurama's eyes close as he nuzzles into the attention and affection, tails wagging.]

[ He could almost doze off like this.

There's a small yawn as he sits up. ]

I have to admit... I'm a little jealous of your animal form. At least yours isn't something people would be grossed out by.

[ Faintly sheepish laugh. ]

Akira's smiling at Ren, until he says that... and then he's blinking...

And gives a dramatic gasp.]

It certainly sounds that way. I know an animal form was never mentioned to me.

[Kurama opens his eyes to give Ren a look of exaggerated reproach and disappointment.]

[ There's something... sort of awkward as he stares (Akira first, then Kurama) before he shakes his head. Then, after looking to the side, he frowns. ]

Holding out...? More like sparing you.

[ It's said too seriously to be a joke. ]

[Akira's gaze searches Ren for a few moments... And then, suddenly, there's another gasp. Far from looking uneasy, he looks hopeful.]

Bat form?

Hmm, that is common in myths... But that isn't gross.

[Something wistful and nostalgic, if a little sad, creeps into Kurama's mental tone.]

I had a partner a long time ago that was a bat youkai. He had lovely wings.

... There's something awkward and he looks torn - there's a very large swell of nerves, even. But, quickly, he's latching onto this new topic. ]

[His hand comes up and lightly catches the other's jaw, trying to steer his gaze towards him. He's going to try to offset those nerves by gently instilling some calm.]

I'm not going to force you to say or show anything you don't want to. But... I think you'd be cute even if your animal form was a blobfish.

[A small, lightly playful smile surrounded by fondness.]

[Kurama stretches and pushes himself up to a sitting position, tails curled around his paws.]

But...yes. Anything you share with us is your choice.

[ His cheeks flush a bit at the touch to his face, and he lets out a quiet sound after they both call him out. ]

... I know. It's-

[ Ren releases a slow breath as he turns his head and presses his cheek into that hand. ]

-not that easy?

[ There's a pause. ]

Everything I learned, I did on my own. The other form is one that requires protection... because of how weak it currently is.

[ With a quiet sigh, he straightens up a little. ]

... But, I trust you two. [ a small, shy smile ] Just don't expect anything badass, I guess? When I say weak...

[He gives a small smile as his hand drops away. Instead, he looks over to Kurama and reaches up, giving him another scratch behind the ears.]

Don't worry about it. I'm just glad you're willing to show us.

[Kurama gives a soft, pleased whine and leans into Akira's hand.]

I don't need you to be strong. I just need you to be you, Ren.

[ Ren's cheeks darken a little more at Kurama's words... ]

[ There's a shy smile that fades, though the shyness lingers, in and of itself.

He releases a small breath, and then he closes his eyes. It's very quick: one second he's there, and then the next? There's a tiny creature sitting there. Said bat lets out a tiny squeak as he stretches his wings. Then, he's peering up at them with some shy nervousness. . . ]

[Akira inhales sharply, eyes widening...]

Kurama. [His hand comes down to the fox's neck and gives a little shake.] Kurama.

[HE ALREADY CAN'T HANDLE THIS?????????]

[Kurama's mental laughter rings clear as a bell at Akira's cute-related distress. He leans down and nuzzles the tiny bat before giving a careful grooming lick to the black fur.]
