[Akira's found and is chilling in the general vicinity of Kurama when he asks:]

So, Kurama, are you a kitsune or something?

[byanyother_name]

[That's a little out of nowhere. Or not nowhere, but slightly belated?

Kurama blinks as he looks up from his tablet.]

I am, yes. Rather, I'm several things by now, but kitsune came first.

[Listen. A Lot Happened.]

Can I see it again? Your fox form?

[byanyother_name]

[That's fair.

Kurama tilts his head curiously at the request. After a moment, he tucks his tablet away.]

I don't see any reason why not, I suppose. Is it that interesting?

[cellkey]

Yes. I need to test some hypotheses.

For science.

[byanyother_name]

[Science. Right. This expression says Kurama not only has Akira's number, but probably his address and vital statistics, too.

But Kurama has something of a fatal weakness, so he just smiles, small and soft and indulgent. He shifts to his fox form, stretching and shaking himself.]

[ Annnnnd along comes this guy. He's not even going to bother explaining why he's here. He's just going to walk right over and crouch down next to foxrama, head tilting as he looks to Akira. ]

Doctor Kurusu does have a nice ring to it.

[ He's smiling at him, and then letting said smile stick as he looks back to Kurama. ]

This is a pretty nice experiment, too.

[Oh, hell. Akira hadn't been able to get a good look at him before, but he's cute. But given that this doesn't only apply to his fox form, it's not surprising.

He looks up as Ren comes over and gives a grin.]

Perfect timing, Ren. My experiment could use an assistant.

[Annnnd, yep, he's coming over close to Kurama and, without further ado, reaching over to scratch him behind the ear.]

You're both ridiculous.

[He just wants them to know that. He doesn't mind that they are, but still. Kurama watches Akira approach, head slightly tilted and ears upright.

And he was half expecting Akira to do something along this line, but it doesn't help him any. Kurama's eyes close as Akira's fingers scratch behind his ear, his head pressing into the attention.]

[ That gets a small, outright grin; his fangs clearly show. Even as he's being called ridiculous, he moves over sitting next to Kurama, hand reaching up to scratch behind the other ear.

... Although, there's a bit of curiosity. He moves the hand to scratch just under the chin. ]

So, doctor? How are the results, so far?

[ He's... actually fucking winking at Akira. ]

[Oh, that grin... really warms his heart. Especially given how Ren had been so fearful of revealing his fangs in the first place. Kurama just sinking into the affection is heartening, too... He gives a grin of his own.]

Pretty good so far. But we'll have to keep testing, just to make sure.

[He runs his other hand down Kurama's back, then scratches his the top of his rump.]

[Kurama just flops down on the floor with a pleased trilling noise. He stretches and wriggles happily at the scratches and pets, tails, sorry, there is literally no other word than wagging at this point.]

[ How dare he be this cute...

There's a quiet laugh slipping out as he moves to just. Sit next to and lean against Akira.

Just a little. ]

I have no problem with extensive research on this~

[O-oh... There's a blink when Ren just leans against him, and he glances at him a bit, cheeks turning just the tiniest bit pink... His gaze softens at the laugh before he returns his attention to Kurama.]

Good, because it looks like we might be here quite awhile.

[He gives a hum, pausing in the scratching for just a moment.]

Hey Kurama, can I touch your tails?

[byanyother_name]

[Kurama gives a little whine of protest at the pause. Golden eyes peek up at Akira at the question.

The answer doesn't come in his mental voice, though, but in the form of a chirp and the green tails curling closer to Akira.]

[ He simply smiles at Akira before he looks back to Kurama...

... and then an outright laugh slips out. It's gentle and fond.

Happy. ]

This is a little dangerous... Because I think I could get used to this.

[Akira can't help but give a bit of a laugh as well. He's only found one person— maybe two— at home that could make him feel the same way, so this... takes him a bit off guard.

He lightly bumps Ren's shoulder.]

Looks like you're doomed.

[Gently, he'll reach out and run his hand over one of the tails, curious about how it feels...]

You're welcome to get used to spoiling me.

[Look who's remembered how words work, finally. Kurama lays his head on Ren's leg with a soft trill.

His tail twitches a little under Akira's hand. It feels...strange. A little bit cool, and smooth as glass, but flexible.]

[ He laughs at those words - both of their words. He shakes his head. ]

Gladly...

[ Though, now he's going to move to gently rest his forehead on the top of Kurama's head. All the while, he's gently scratching under his chin. ]

You're both a little unfairly nice to be around...

[He gives a soft grin as he watches them, his expression fond. When he brings up his hand to scratch Kurama's neck, the gesture is more tender than before.]

... back at you.

[byanyother_name]

It's very mutual.

[Kurama's eyes close as he nuzzles into the attention and affection, tails wagging.]

[ He could almost doze off like this.

There's a small yawn as he sits up. ]

I have to admit... I'm a little jealous of your animal form. At least yours isn't something people would be grossed out by.

[ Faintly sheepish laugh. ]

[Oh, what the heck... Even his yawn is cute?

Akira's smiling at Ren, until he says that... and then he's blinking...

And gives a dramatic gasp.]

Ren, have you been holding out on us?

[byanyother_name]

It certainly sounds that way. I know an animal form was never mentioned to me.

[Kurama opens his eyes to give Ren a look of exaggerated reproach and disappointment.]
